PLAY TABLE-TENNIS IN OUR GARDEN AREA

Wiff-Waff in the rain?

Local residents are invited to play Table-Tennis (or wiff-waff as London Mayor Boris Johnson reminded us it was called centuries ago) in our garden area. Bats and balls can be borrowed by signing them out from our reception for return when you finish your game. I do suggest however that you wait for dry weather to play, as ping-pong outdoors in rain is not much fun.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SECRET GARDEN MARKET?

The Secret Garden Market is just what it says it is. Tucked away in a small garden in Ezra Street near the junction of Ravenscroft Street, the little market sells jewellery, clothes and all sorts of nick-nacks. Well worth a visit on Sunday Mornings on the way to our Sunday Market and Cafe.

ANYONE FOR TABLE-TENNIS?

The workmen around the Nags Head Estate and the back of the Sundial Centre are very near completion and have even installed – a full sized  metal table-tennis table, complete with metal net! How long will it last? My bet is six months!

They’re nearly finished.

CAUTION – FAKE WORKMEN ARE OPERATING IN THE AREA

There are reports of fake workmen posing as being from the waterboard operating in the Tower Hamlets area. You should be on guard who you let into your home. Double check the identity of anyone trying to gain access to your home – even if they say it’s an emergency. Don’t be a victim. If someone does try to force entry to your home – CALL THE POLICE! Don’t be afraid to dial 999 in a genuine emergency. Your safety comes first.

WARNING – FAKE BANKNOTES ARE STILL IN THE AREA

Which is the fake?

Fake or Real – Can you tell the difference?

I advise you all to double check every banknote that you are given within the local area – regardless of where you are getting it from. It is now very clear that there are fake notes circulating in this area. I know – I was caught out myself recently, a fake £20 note in amongst other notes given to me by my local post office. It was a good forgery, it fooled them and me, so check all the security markers, especially the watermarks and where there should be raised print.  As to which is the fake – it was the bottom one.

Peabody Prize Draw

Would you like to win a prize just for writing a story, or simply sending them a photograph of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebrations? The competition is open to all Peabody residents, local residents and voluntary helpers as part of Peabody’s 150th anniversary. For more information and prize details click here

Builders Nearing Completion

The extensive renovations and building works around the Nags Head Estate, specifically behind the Sundial Centre, around Cadell House, Horatio House and Sundial House is nearing completion. The topsoil and grass is now being laid in the communial areas, which is usually the sign that they will be gone soon.
