BBC historian Dan Cruikshank has spoken out on his concerns that the City of London is encroaching more and more into Tower Hamlets after the go-ahead was given for a further 22 buildings on the Tower Hamlets side of the boundary.

Over the last 20 years there has been a constant deterioration in the skyline viewed from within Tower Hamlets, and it can be clearly seen where commercial sky-scrapers have not-so-slowly been expanding out of the City of London’s boundaries.

Are they trying to link up the City of London with Canary Wharf, to make one enormous financial area? Where will it all stop? Basildon? We all know that Tower Hamlets needs businesses to move in, but how about these big corporations building some low cost housing to replace those being demolished and built over, and to provide their lower paid staff with somewhere to live?

Will we lose Tower Hamlets as we know it to big commerce, as we did the original Isle of Dogs to Canary Wharf, or is this just the start of something new?

The Stepney City Farm hope to keep the market open every Saturday throughout the summer from 10am until 3pm.

We have now seen the inside of the book, as it has been sent to us from the designers. There are still some minor alterations required, but it is now looking tremendous, and we can now see some return for all our hard work.

Whilst we were reviewing the insides, we were joined by Stanton, the projects manager for the Sundial Centre, who has said he will do what he can to help us with finding finance for printing and publishing.
